In response to the tsunami that devastated the Indonesian province of Ache, Komang became the director of the ‘Friends of Indonesia’ aid relief. The association offered support to victims through their ‘adopt a village’ program and with the assistance of many amazing people helped to rebuild the infrastructure of a fishing community that had been completely destroyed.

One of many fundraising efforts highlighting the depth of human compassion was a celebrity masquerade benefit held in Seminyak Bali. On many occasions over the last few years Bali’s international community has become a united force in offering aid and emotional support to victims of both natural and premeditated disasters. This unity is representative of the respect, understanding and tolerance of the Balinese people and why so many international guests are honored to call the island of Bali their home.
